Double Eagle Consulting Commercial Director Vladimir Akopov and Pilot Inspector Sergey Danilov attended the third international Mi helicopter operator conference. The conference took place on August 9 -11, 2000 in Kazan, Tatarstan.

The presentations made at the conference highlighted Kazan plant`s plans for developing new types of helicopters such as Ansat, Aktay and Mi-38 and improving Mi-8MTV modifications, equipment and avionics. There were also demonstrated new developments of ground equipment.

The conference was attended by representatives of over 20 countries, including Turkey, Mexico, Egypt, Bangladesh, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Colombia and officials of Russia`s Aviaexport, Promexport and SPARK plant.

DEC specialists held discussions with representatives of Egypt, Kenya, Colombia, Nepal, Turkey, Uganda, Mexico and Uzbekistan. They distributed DEC`s information bulletins and proposed to further the cooperation in the field of technical audits, consulting and project support.

DEC specialists negotiated with representatives of Kenya, Uzbekistan and Nepal possible commercial projects. DEC also met with V. Pashko KHP`s Deputy Director General for marketing to explore opportunities for marketing KHP`s product in the market.

Operators made observations and proposals for continuing the effort to increase Mi-8MTV-1`s components times and improve ergonomics of cockpit equipment. It was also proposed to extend or cancel calendar lifecycles since extension of lifecycle was presently made on the basis of helicopter technical status.
