Double Eagle Consulting is currently providing ATC consutling services and flight dispatch support under NASA SOLVE project. The project involves several missions set up to reseach ozone depletions in Northern Russia. NASA is using specially equipped ER-2 and DC-8 aircraft to make long-haul runs into the Russian airspace from an airfield at Kiruna in Sweden. The project requires a lot of coordination efforts as flights mostly take place in off-route airspace sectors controlled by Russian military and use quite variable profiles. Double Eagle's role is to ensure necessary overfly permits and entry clearances into the Russian airspace, file flight plans to appropriate FIR addresses as well as to liaise with Russian ATC authorities as necessary. |
